The Peninsula is not able to cover this expense without increasing rates or charging a special levy to owners. After discussion with the Directors a practical solution has been agreed upon and we will be implementing from the 20th January 2023, a R60,00 daily charge for occupants who would like to keep the power on in their suites over the load shedding hours, if you choose this option this will be added to your in-house account to be settled on departure. We are currently experiencing 6 to 8 hours of load shedding a day and for those that agree to pay, the power will stay on 24hours a day and maintain all electrical appliances including air conditioning and hot water geysers. If there is no load shedding no charge for that day will be applied.
