From Cape Town International Airport +-185km Take N1 to Paarl, through the Huguenot Tunnel (or over Du Toits Kloof Pass) and on to Worcester where you will pass a Shell Ultra City on your left hand side and you will get to a set of traffic lights on the N1 Proceed straight across these traffic lights to a second set at which you turn right into Worcester Follow this road, over a railway bridge, all the way down to High Street, where you must turn left into High Street Carry on for about 1km and watch for signs directing you to the right (R60) towards Robertson, Ashton and Montagu Stay on the R60 all the way, and once through Ashton it becomes the R62 which takes you through the Cogman's Kloof to Montagu As you enter Montagu, you are now in Long Street, which you stay on almost to the end of town Turn left into the very last road, being Cross Street At the next stop, turn right into Bath Street, which you follow about 3km out of town On your left you will see (illuminated) signs for Avalon Montagu Springs Turn left here into Uitvlucht Street and immediately swing right and follow this street all the way down to our car park PLEASE NOTE The rehabilitation of 13.4km of TR31 from Ashton to Montagu through Cogman s Kloof is under way. TR31 means Trunk Road 31 and is the provincial roads department s name for the road consisting of parts of roads colloquially known as the R60 and R62. The project officially started in July 2015, and will take roughly 36 months (3 years) to complete. If you are travelling from Cape Town stay on N1 past Worcester, en-route to De Doorns. Pass through De Doorns. Half way en-Route to Touwsriver (+-20km) you will see a sign for the R318 towards Montagu take this turnoff this will bring you to Montagu via the Koo Valley - you will see signs to Avalon Springs this road that enters Montagu from the Avalon Springs side. It is a little bit longer but in good condition, very scenic and you will have no hold ups , stop goes etc.
